Context and resources
Records, Schooling And Land
The Nation's history describes communities remaining in Virginia through settlement pressure and discrimination. It explains how the 1924 Racial Integrity Law damaged Native identity records and recounts community challenges to racial classifications and barriers to schooling. The account also records the Episcopal Church's return of a deed for 7.5 acres in 1995. These are events in the Nation's historical account, not a starting date for its people or proof that the effects of discrimination have ended.

A Living Government And Climate Plans
The Nation describes itself as a sovereign Tribal government headquartered on Bear Mountain. Its environmental department says a 2023 Climate Pollution Reduction Grant supported planning and describes a Priority Climate Action Plan with a greenhouse gas inventory. It gives 2027 as a planned date for a Comprehensive Climate Action Plan. Those are published plans, not verified completed outcomes. The Nation's museum and government pages offer further learning in its own voice.
